Job Title: Structural Project Engineer

Pay Range: $90K-$100k- Yearly

Must Have: The work that we do is very specialized.

We're only going to be interested in candidates with 2-10 years of experience:

Focused specifically on designing wood-framed residential buildings.

In the production homebuilding sector (preferably single-family, but apartment experience may be ok).

In California.

Structural Project Engineer is a full-time position in our West Sacramento office. The Structural PE oversees the technical aspects of engineering projects from inception to completion. The role involves conceptualizing & planning, designing, and executing the structural design through multiple project phases while coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of engineering experience and a degree in civil engineering (or 2+ years of engineering experience in residential wood construction), a full understanding of engineering design principles, and an eagerness to grow their career.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and coordinate lateral, gravity, & foundation systems, with a focus on light-framed wood construction
• Provide value-engineering options for client review
• Participate in quality control reviews
• Coordinate deliverables to client and architect
• Address jurisdiction plan reviews and construction support requests
• Perform on-site observations when necessary

Personal Traits & Skills

• 2-6+ years of wood-framed structural design experience (degrees and/or licensure optional but welcome!)
• Technology-savvy
• Ability to identify potential issues, adapt, and problem-solve
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and an effective communicator
• Critical thinker with an attention to detail and ability to make decisions
• Knowledge of building codes and jurisdictional regulations
• Familiar with MEP systems.

Pay Range: $90K-$100k- Yearly

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
