This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership ability, and excellent communication skills to successfully manage project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource needs.
  • Coordinate all phases of electrical projects—from design and procurement through installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Conduct weekly procurement reviews to ensure materials and equipment are being ordered on time and follow up on submittal status and delivery schedules. Be prepared to present updates during weekly job meetings to identify and address potential issues early.
  • Ensure project execution complies with NEC, building codes, safety standards, and client requirements.

2. Procurement Oversight:

  • Maintain active tracking of all material submittals and procurement packages.
  • Anticipate long-led items and work proactively to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders during weekly job reviews to address procurement concerns and help prevent jobsite delays.

3. Information Management & RFIs:

  • Proactively identify gaps or inconsistencies in project drawings or specifications.
  • Communicate daily with field personnel to ensure clarity on scope, sequence, and details.
  • Promptly issue RFIs when information is missing, vague, or conflicting. PMs are expected to take ownership of keeping field teams informed and equipped with accurate direction to avoid rework and maintain project efficiency.

4. Site Visits & Field Collaboration:

  • Conduct job site visits at least once per week.
  • Meet with foremen regularly to review schedule, manpower, material needs, tool requirements, and any open questions or issues.
  • Ensure strong alignment between office management and field operations, supporting foremen in real time.

5. Customer Relations:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for general contractors and clients.
  • Always maintain professionalism, especially when working with challenging GCs.
  • Escalate issues to internal leadership when appropriate and work with the team to develop collaborative solutions.
  • Deliver a positive client experience to help secure future opportunities.

6. Budget and Financial Oversight:

  • Monitor project costs and forecast budgets regularly.
  • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and subcontractor payments.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing safety or quality.

7. Communication & Meetings:

  • Attend and participate in weekly job calls with foremen, Kyle, and Shawn to ensure alignment across all project stakeholders.
  • Maintain a task tracking system (i.e., to-do lists, procurement logs, open RFIs, pending approvals) to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Provide consistent project updates internally and externally.

8. Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain all project documentation, including contracts, schedules, submittals, RFIs, change orders, permits, and inspections.
  • Coordinate final testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable codes and regulatory requirements.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Champion and uphold corporate safety standards across all assigned job sites
  • Execute routine safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate safety risks; implement corrective actions in real time
  • Verify field personnel are trained, equipped, and consistently utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Partner with the Safety Department to roll out safety initiatives, monitor compliance metrics, and support incident investigations
  • Demonstrate leadership by modeling and reinforcing a zero-compromise, safety-first culture at all levels of field operations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing electrical contracting projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, BIM 360, Autodesk, and ACC.
  • Strong financial and budget management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of NEC and local building/electrical codes.
  • Ability to work both in the office and on active job sites.

Working Conditions:

  • Setting: Combination of office and field-based work.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, standard 8-hour shift, with flexibility to accommodate project needs.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth.
